How to Remove the AC Compressor From a Toyota Camry

Pull Tip: Before doing any work on your AC system where you're going to be removing any of components, make sure to have the refrigerant removed by a certified technician with the proper equipment. The system is under pressure and you could damage something on the vehicle or hurt yourself.

Instructions

With the AC system empty, remove the two 10mm bolts attaching the AC lines

Loosen the tensioner on the alternator to remove the belt
3

Remove the electrical connector from the AC compressor by squeezing in on the side
4

Remove three 12mm bolts holding the alternator in place (one on top, two on bottom)
5

Before removing the last bolt, hold the AC compressor so it doesn't fall once you remove the final bolt
6

Remove the AC compressor from the vehicle
